The Schrödinger project is a project is maintained by David Schleef with active participation from among others BBC R&D and Fluendo.
The goal of the project is to create a set of high quality decoder and encoder libraries for the Dirac video codec. This project will produce two libraries in ANSI C89, one for decoding and one for encoding.
As part of this project we have also develop mappings for embedding Dirac inside the Ogg container format developed by Xiph.org and MPEG TS. Check our documentation section for more information on these.
We are also providing plugins for the popular cross platform GStreamer multimedia framework.
We also offer hosting on this page for people who want to do projects around Dirac related libraries.
